Quiznos Parent REGO Restaurant Group Signs 100-Unit Deal with Ghost Kitchen Brands

REGO Restaurant Group, which includes the Quiznos and Taco Del Mar brands, has partnered with Ghost Kitchen Brands to better serve its delivery and take-out customers. The recently signed agreement will bring 70 non-traditional locations to the U.S. and 30 to Canada by the end of 2021.

REGO Restaurant Group Unveils New, Contemporary Quiznos Branding in Response to Rising Demand for Differentiated Experiences and Creative Flavor Combinations

As consumers increasingly seek differentiated dining experiences and creative flavor combinations, REGO Restaurant Group continues to transform the Quiznos brand with the introduction of a new brand identity following a strategic, data-driven insights process conducted in partnership with growth and transformation consultancy, Prophet.

The re-brand initiative, which was guest-tested and refined before being introduced to franchisees late last year, has begun to roll out, with several prototype locations planned to open in 2021. The comprehensive brand transformation focuses on consumer preferences for differentiated flavors, a desire to explore new tastes, group dining occasions, and a drive-thru experience geared towards convenience and speed. Flavor-forward items and new menu categories will be created to attract guests at various times throughout the day, not just for lunch but at happy hour and dinnertime as well.

To begin the roll-out, existing Quiznos franchisees will pioneer a new store design prototype that other franchisees can model. Quiznos will offer a remodel package allowing restaurants to incorporate the new design and menu elements and reimagine the physical expression of the brand. Flat top grills and fryers will also be part of the new equipment package that will allow Quiznos to bring never-before-seen menu items to guests. Additionally, in mid-2021, Quiznos.com will be updated to reflect the new branding along with other digital channels including the brand’s loyalty program, Toasty Points. The new branding has already begun to show success, with early business development conversations starting to generate potential new growth.

Quiznos, Taco Del Mar Parent Names a President

Rego Restaurant Group, the parent of Quiznos and Taco Del Mar, has promoted its chief brand officer to president as the operator looks to potentially acquire new brands, the company announced Monday.

Mark Lohmann joined the Denver-based company early last year.

As part of his new role, Lohmann will continue to lead marketing for Rego’s brands, while adding operations to his duties.

“Mark has been an integral part of Rego’s success over the past two years and, in this new role, will continue to help lead our growth, Rego CEO Tim Casey said in a statement. “Instituting Mark as president will help to further optimize our team so that we are able to best integrate and add new brands to our portfolio, bolstering our shared service model and driving efficiencies.”

Rego Restaurant Group, which is backed by private-equity firm High Bluff Capital Partners, oversees nearly 800 restaurants in 32 countries.
